Chrome playback helper

A lightweight Chrome playback helper for YouTube

Skipper is a small Chrome extension for viewers who want fewer interruptions during skippable YouTube commercial breaks. It works with playback speed and sound state inside the visible YouTube page.

Built for a narrow purpose

Skipper has one job: reduce waiting around eligible YouTube commercial breaks by speeding up playback during the break and restoring normal playback afterward.

The extension is intentionally small. There is no account, no backend service, and no analytics inside the extension.

Chrome-first and YouTube-only

The first version is designed for Chrome and Chromium-based browsers.

It runs only on YouTube pages and does not request broad all-sites access.

Privacy position

Skipper stores only a local ON/OFF preference in the browser.

That setting stays on the user’s device and is not sent to us or to third parties.
